Sam Desroches is a registered physiotherapist and clinic manager for a community based private rehabilitation centre in London, Ontario, where he has been treating patients since 2008.  He is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is also a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.  He earned both his Bachelors of Arts in Kinesiology and Master of Physical Therapy from Western University.

He enhanced his skills with post-graduate training in Manual Therapy, Selective Functional Movement Assessments, Acupuncture, Dry Needling, K-Tape, McKenzie, and Mulligan Concepts, to name a few.

He co-authored in the publication of a research article on prognostic factors for recovery from occupational low back pain.

Sam doesn’t only looks to alleviate pain, but also to find and treat the cause of pain which may or may not be related to the affected area.  He believes this is the best way to provide the most optimal recovery with the most minimal likelihood of a recurrence.

Sam considers himself to be a “tool belt” physiotherapist.  This means he doesn’t rely on a cookie cutter approach to treat all his patients the same way.  He understands that every patient is unique and deserves a tailored approach to help meet their needs.  He confidently utilizes a variety of skills and tools including: manual therapy, soft tissue release, exercise prescription, therapeutic taping, acupuncture, cupping, electrotherapy, ultrasound, and more.

He often discusses in his practice the effect that pain has on movement patterns and how it can negatively affect the way we function as well as our postures.  During his assessments he is always evaluating both the quantity and quality of movements.

He is a firm believer that delivering anything short of the highest level of customer service possible is not an option.  He strives to keep the energy, positivity, and enthusiasm in his clinic to a maximum.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports such basketball and volleyball, watching movies, keeping up to date on the stock market, and blogging.

For anyone in search of physiotherapy in London, Ontario, don’t hesitate to reach out to Sam.
